I am a theatre and opera director.

I am the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Rough Haired Pointer. which I set up with designer Carin Nakanishi in 2013. The company has grown to include a producer, a composer and 6 actors. In 2014 we were called ‘one of the most inventive and entertaining new theatre companies out there’ (Exeunt).

From 2013 - 14 I was the Resident Director at The Hope Theatre.

In 2014 I directed the world premiere of Joe Orton’s FRED & MADGE.

My adaptation of George & Weedon Grossmith’s THE DIARY OF A NOBODY has completed 4 runs in London.

My new English libretto of CARMEN was published by Oberon in 2019.

I have worked as a Director or Assistant Director at venues including Soho Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, Shoreditch Town Hall, Opera Holland Park, Wilton’s Music Hall, Camden People’s Theatre, Theatre Royal Winchester, the King’s Head, Sadler’s Wells, the Oxford Playhouse, The Arcola, The Park, The Place and Theatre Severn.

I am currently developing a new piece about the representation of sex with Shoreditch Town Hall and a revival of Sheila Heti’s play ALL OUR HAPPY DAYS ARE STUPID.

I am represented by Jessica Stewart at Independent.
